As per Food Safety and Standard Regulation, 2011 when any raw material derived from animal sources is contained in a product it has to be identified with a Red or brown colored circle within a square as a symbol. Food Products bearing a Red or brown colored circle within a square on their packagings are called as non-vegetarian food. Food other than non-vegetarian food are called as vegetarian food and bear a green colored circle within a square on their packaging.
As per Food Safety and Standard (Packaging and Labelling) Regulation, 2011 Red or brown colored circle within a square logo on any food packaging signifies that the product contains raw-material(s) derived from animal sources and resultant finished product is called as a non-vegetarian food.
As per Food Safety and Standard Regulation, 2011, FSSAI logo on any food packaging indicates that the manufacture of that food product is licensed form FSSAI (Food Safety Standard Authority of India) to manufacture that product in corresponding food category as defined by FSSAI.
